Dual Blades - One Moves
The Acu-Cutter 350 is a simple multi purpose foam cutter that can cut most foamsup to 8 ½ inches thick. The Acu-Cutter 350 has 2 blades, one stationery and one moving. The blades are made from ½ inch (front to back) “V” tooth blade material (10 teeth per inch) to produce a fine reliable cut. The Acu-Cutter 350 is also available as a 12 inch saw. Because foam saws are awkward to use, we do not recommend this unless your foam cutting requires the longer length.
Uses a detachable, low profile base with glide rollers This base can be removed to produce angle cuts or sculpting Powered with a 4.5 amp Black & Decker JS 500 jig saw motor with variable speed. Accordingly, these motors can be replaced at a low cost with ease and parts are readily available. Other more expensive foam cutters can cost $350 to replace a motor. Because the Acu-Cutter 350 motor can be replaced with ease, the Acu-Cutter 350 is the best choice today for a reliable high volume foam cutter.
Pre-tested ready to use out of the box. Other cutters require the purchase of supplementary parts and assembly.
Simply put, the Acu-Cutter 350 is a relatively inexpensive, reliable, multi purpose foam cutter that can be easily serviced.

It is not always necessary to run the motor at full speed to cut foam. You may wish to experiment with cutting at slower speeds. Slower speeds may create different cutting effects and increase the life of the saw.
The upper teeth of your saw do almost no cutting and the lower teeth are used almost always. With the saw turned off, run your fingers across the points of the teeth at the top and bottom and compare them to determine the amount of wear that has occurred to the lower teeth.
The moving blade should be occasionally lubricated with any lubricating oil. The purpose of the lubrication is to reduce heat and friction on both sides of the moving blade. Failure to do this will result in excess stress on the motor and shorten its useful life.
- Stop the motor with the moving blade in the up position exposing about 1/2 inch of the blade at the top of its enclosure or blade guide.
- Apply the lubricant to both sides of the moving blade at the top of the blade guide below the blade clamp.
- The up and down motion of the moving blade will draw the oil down into the blade guide on either side of the blade.
The blades may be sprayed frequently with a silicone spray. Silicone spray is effective when sprayed on the cutting edge of the blade to enable better penetration of the foam. As silicone residue and other debris may accumulate in the saw, you should remove the blades and clean the saw as needed.
The base plate is attached by two high strength screws, which should be kept tight at all times to prevent breakage. If you are having any difficulty keeping these screws tight, you should immediately use Loctite (available through your hardware store).
For certain freehand cutting, you may wish to remove the base plate. This can be accomplished by loosing the two base screws and removing the base.
